Alice Mcleod, APRN, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, specializing in children and young adults. She is experienced in the treatment of a variety of psychiatric conditions, providing therapy and medication management.
Alice utilizes a holistic and collaborative approach to developing a treatment plan, examining each of the dimensions of a person’s wellness, including social, physical, emotional, environmental, intellectual, financial, spiritual, and occupational factors. Alice utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach, based in the empowerment model, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
While Alice is an experienced diagnostician, she emphasizes the limitations of labels in capturing the complexity of humans, and seeks to develop an understanding of her patients as individuals.
Her practice is informed by her research into the impact of standard mental health treatment on adolescent identity development, as well as resiliency-building interventions in the context of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
